It sounds like you will need to remove all references to it in the
registry. Don't edit the registry if you don't know what you are
doing--it can royally mess up your computer. This behavior is much the
same as when you remove a program by dragging it to the recycle bin as
opposed to using Add/Remove programs.

Editing the registry is easy but unforgiving if you make a mistake. Good
news though, you have several copies on your computer at any one time.
