Paul,
Have you tried getting to the boot menu? (hit F8 at start of boot process)
In this case, my first attempt would be "Last Known Good Configuration" and
if that does not work, repeat the process and choose "Safe Mode". In safe
mode you can run a system restore under Start / All Programs / Accessories /
System tools.

I have just installed a new modem and USB 2.0 card and now I'm unable to
boot up a WIN XP Home system. I was able to install the software for the USB
card, but not for the modem.
Anyone had experience with this problem? Can you guide me to a good source
on the web for self help?
I have a second computer so getting on the web is no problem.
